I can never understand why they go to the trouble of having this award, and then end up picking more than 1 winner.

It is a vote. In the event that it is a tie, it goes to more than one person. What are they suppose to do, have a second vote? That is totally impractical. I don't see a problem with a tie. It is not like it is a competition that ends in a tie. It is nothing but a pole, and poles don't mean 5hit.

What is wrong with rewarding two obviously deserving players? I could see your point if they gave it out to a bunch of guys, but splitting it between two players who coaches obviously cant separate, seems rational.

It is also hard to decide when they are in different positions. You can compare two running backs, but not a lineman and a running back
