How is this team going to be? They were really impressive this season, but they lose a lot of senior. How will they look next season?

It's really in the hands of the players. There's plenty of players coming back to form a good core. The question is whether enough people will get in the weight room and add the extra muscle in the off season, and then show up in something approaching game shape.

Lots of people want to win the day of the game, but it's the towns where the players put in the time in the weight room and on other sports that do well year after year.

NP had a good core of people who put the work in this year and it took them a long ways. If everyone would have done the work, there wasn't any reason they wouldn't have been a state champion.

Not saying of course that Velva would have just rolled over and played dead. But look Velva graduated what was it 12 seniors this year? And then they are state champions again. They are a team putting in the work, nothing magic about it. If NP wants to be champions, they need to put in the work, next year is already here, how many NP players hit the weight room this week or are they just going to take some time off, like 8 months and figure they can do it game day while tired and puffing?

I definatly agree with BigNorsk. Once the seasons over, the players need to start there off season getting ready for next year. That is how champions are made. I think that there are alot of dedacated players that will be on the team next year and they will be working there butts off in the off season. I think they have some wrestlers on there football team so for sure those kids will be in the weight room and staying in the physical football form. I hope that the others do the same so North Dakota can see more sucess from North Prairie in the future.

They have big shoes to fill but they have a strong core returning as well. Jaden, and Everett will lead the attack although not wrestlers they will be just fine as a few others will be. I look forward to watching again.

well If it was my kid he would get a chance to relax a bit from FOOTBALL, cause life isn't football, I'd have him spot check his grades and remind him Academics drives the Train, then if he was going to wrestle, Play Ball, or just sing in chorus, or play in the band, take a little time and let the body and mind regroup.
I would then tell him to get in the gym and lift for the sport your in, go on the internet, talk to their Coach or trainer and find out the best drills and exercises to prepare for their next adventure.
If you can’t excel with talent, triumph with effort.

I won't disagree with you that it can get to be too much and certainly life isn't football. Seems more like it Modern Warfare II for a few days. And then we are going to go run through cattails for a few days just to keep loose. Did you get the big one?

Already into wrestling mode, got to take off a few football pounds, nothing big.

And the grades are of course the important thing. It's the same sort of thing there, keep working at it, don't get behind. Don't try to just cram a couple of nights to get by. Lots of people want to do well on the test but it takes doing the work beforehand to be really ready.

Agreed, running and lifting are huge in the off season. with or without other sports. It is very important so the boys are ready for next season.
