First let me say I don't really know because I haven't seen many teams at all, but Blake Nelson, Senior, of North Prairie certainly does crunch some people with his tackles. I can't say he's the best, but he's certainly one of the best against the run.

HIs disadvantage this year is for stats, there are a lot of good tackling linemen on his team and while I expect he will end up leading the team in tackles, I don't know if his total number will be such that people will go ga ga about his numbers. He'd have more tackles if he played on a weaker team.

Jason Goetz and Pake Hagen from rugby are both pretty good backers.

If Travis Beck is 200 lbs then I run a 3.9 40. Beck is a great athlete but lets get serious here, he's lucky if he weighs 175 lbs wet and wearing boots.

The Grand Forks Herald said that Myles Tomlinson at middle linebacker is the anchor of the defense for Cavalier and didn't even mention Mack on defense. http://www.grandforksherald.com/event/a ... id/136114/

Ethan Plemmel of Oakes has 64 tackles, 23 assisted tackles, 3 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries according to the stats turned into max preps. He had 17 tackles in the opener against Kindred. He has been very good for the Tornadoes.

Plemel from Oakes has been playing really good. 22 tackles in one game, Hasn't had a game with less then 12 tackles all season. Teams have been keying on blocking him and yet he still gets to the ball. Bauman from Linton also has been having a good season. Good leader on a Defense that is tough to move the ball on, especially inside the red zone.
