well in 2008, i know that stanley wasn't very impressive. they didn't have anyone that could step up to the challenge of leading the team...now harvey...they will be losing alot in kordel wolfe and michael leier. they also loose all of there line but one...and for velva...well they have all of these kids that rotate in so they should be pretty well balanced...and two very good and quick runners in Michael Wiest and Collin Kittelson

Even with Wiest and Kittelson back velva loses alot of people. They only return one Offensive linemen along with losing all state players in kuntz and Ystass(sorry on spelling). Not to mention Josh Weidler who was the best all around player on the team.

the only returning safety harvey has back is weinman and thats the fullback and i believe he played the whole season and there were no knee problems

Goldade started at safety for harvey and then moved to cornerback and reinoski took goldades spot at FS

I agree velva will be the team to beat in this region next year. Even though they lose alot of quality kids they still return alot to.

velva will be pretty good as always, but a lot of teams this year had a lot of great seniors who were playing

Harvey lost at least 10 seniors this year, but Harvey has always been known to have an excellent team with the coaching staff that they do. No matter what harvey has always been a good team. If the talent isn't there, the physical play sure is.

What about Williams County? They will be playing in the same region and are coming off a very succesful season last year.

i agree with bobbyjones on this one....sure lalim was a great player but exactly as bobbyjones said one player doesnt make a team. grubb gettin some good playing time this year in some tough games. such as central mclean and berthold and quite a few others. the got some good talent returning in vejtasa, knox , perdue, bergstom, jungemann and numerous others...they should make up as pretty decent team, it will be an interesting year.

I'm kinda wondering why everyone thinks stanley will be so good. Do they have a lot of returning players or what is the deal?

i think that harvey will take region but it will be close between harvey and velva. these to teams are big rivals and anything could happen when they meet. i would like to see these 2 teams play in the simi finals again. i dont think stanley will have much of a team this coming year but with in the next 5 years i believe that will

Funny but when you look at these teams and debate what they have returning or what they are losing, I think it should be what they are gaining from JV or JH ranks that make the difference in fairly equal teams. Being from Velva I can tell you that the kids in JH are playing and looking to play on this team. It doesn't stop there. Football is played on the playgrond and in backyards year round in Velva. I'm sure the same can be said about Harvey, Stanley and other powerhouse towns across the state. I am sure there are some unforseens that will have some huge impacts on how games are won. Cody Kittelson was a 4 year starter in Velva. Came out of JH and started! Who are they gaining? That is more my question.
