I'm thinking my WNG pick may be wrong . Could be a great game. EEK and Oak grove might be a better game than people think.Bottineau/DLB is tough to call also. Velva/WNG game of week for sure imo.

Wow the Bishop/Berthold game must have been a great one to watch. And I thought the Velva/Sawyer/ WNG game would have been closer.

No kidding. Bishop Ryan was down 27-7 at one point and scored 21 unanswered points to take the lead. It turned into a punt fest late 3rd/early4th but then with like 3 minutes left, Bishop Ryan got a big about 40 yard touchdown run to take the lead by 8. It is on of those where you look back in hindsight and think it would have been better if it would not have gone for a big play cause then Bishop Ryan could have ran down the clock instead of giving Berthold 3 minutes to drive and tie it up, which they did on a 70 yard pass play. Both teams scored on their first play in OT, Berthold missed the XP, and then the Bishop Ryan kicker hit the game ender to win 42-41.

I wouldnt be surprised to see Bishop Ryan begin to play a lot better. I think they feel a lot better about themselves after this win.
Also, what do people think of the OT rules with drives starting at the 10? Is it too close?

I think it should be the 20 or 25. If they get close to a 1st down on 3rd down, Maybe a field goal? Most teams can get 2.5 yds per carry Too easy. Or maybe 1st and goal from the 15?

I'd like to see first and 10 from somewhere outside the 10 but not as far as the college rule. That leaves the 15 or the 20. Moving it back might prompt some coaches to spend some time developing a kicker so they have another option in end of game or OT situations.

Agreed. The 10 is too easy but I see the reasoning for wanting a field goal to still be an option. I'd be fine with either the 15 or 20.

Why not just go old school and call it a tie. This would make for some interesting coaches decisions late in the year when jockeying for playoff positions. Just saying.

Personally, I just hate ties. The stubborn NFL keeps wringing their hands over how to avoid ties when they have a perfect example of how to do it in the college ranks. The drama is electric in college and high school football OT. Hockey finally figured out that ties are crummy and did away with them. Basketball and baseball never have had ties (except in one ill-conceived ending to the MLB all-star game - ugh!)

As much grief as he got for the way he said it, Herm Edwards was right when he said "YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!"
