Any D1 Talent across the state in A Division?

Are there any Division I prospects in A Football? I haven't seen or heard of any. No, moms and dads, your 155lb 'stud' is not D1 talent, sorry to break it to you.

I'd travel and watch some games if someone can give me a few worth watching.

Don't get me wrong, a good ol balanced, disciplined high school team is very enjoyable to watch as well.

So far from what I have seen in Region 2 I don't see any one division 1 prospect there are couple of division II possible prospects. I haven't seen all the teams but nobody standout in my recollection from last as possible division I recruits. My guess there has to be one or two just not aware of them.

The younger Kelly kid from Oakes has a chance but that is it. A lot of NAIA kids and a few that could stretch to DII. Good region.

What position do you project him at in college? How tall is he?

Carrington has an underclassman that runs and catches like a college receiver, don't remember his number, tall and fast. For his sake he'd better have someone that can get him the ball. For the Lions sake, lets hope he doesn't :)

Connor Wendel? #12, Junior, 6'0 155 lbs. Made one heck of a catch vs us. Not sure if D1 given current size but that could change. I agree that he is a great WR.

Michael Kelly is around 6'4 270-280 range during the football season.

Then I could see D1 schools in the area taking a look for sure, especially with how good his feet are. I know he is also a good wrestler, which often translates well in the trenches from a leverage standpoint. Wouldn't dismiss his chances.

Brad Heidlebaugh - QB, Rugby - 6' 4" - 200 lbs - True dual threat. Throws the ball as well as any HS player. Great combination of strength, power, and speed when running the ball.

I'll be interested to see if he decides to play football or basketball in college. I get the feeling he likes basketball more. I don't know the kid just the impression I get. I feel like his upside is higher as a QB though.

no idea on his football ability, but I don't think he's quick enough on the BB court to play d1.

Good player and definite college prospect no doubt. If these numbers are correct, then D1 potential. Is he really 6-4 though?

I don't think he'd be a D1 basketball player either. I also haven't seen him play football since his sophomore year, but he wasn't bad back then. If he's improved like people say, he'll get D1 football looks. Frame is everything as a QB recruit.

I don't know that he's all of 6'4" or 270 lbs either, but he does stick out when their big line approaches the line of scrimmage. I think he could lose some fat and reshape that into muscle to the point where he could play in FCS.

I think he's got the raw tools to play FCS if not low FBS. I don't very often notice how quickly the ball arrives at receivers but I did with this guy. He throws lasers, not lobs, and he's pretty accurate. Thing is, he'd have so much to learn jumping from class A to D1. If he's a sharp cookie, he could do it.

6'4 - Yes
270 - not quite

Our running back Peterson is 6'4" and should be a receiver. Watched him in the cities last summer at a 7 on 7 camp and he went up and made plays on balls over some of the highest recruited DBs in the twin cities area. He needs to work in toughness and be used as a receiver more. I doubt he will be recruited by D1 but he could contribute.

Funny, I would have said the opposite, closer to 270 than 6'4. Whoever is recruiting him (and there will many from either sport) will get that figured out.

Erik Loepp (Oakes RB), reminds me of Ryan Smith (Whap / NDSU)
