Here is what I wrote in a different post right after the 2012 season was over.

As far as the Region 1 goes, MNS, Oakes loses very little. NC loses some very big linemen and some position players as well. Linton will always be Linton. Then, throw in some new wrinkles with Carrington and Hillsboro-Central Valley, Ellendale-EK and it could be a crap shoot. Here is my prediction.

1) MNS
2) Carrington
3) Oakes
4) Linton
5) Northern Cass
6) Hillsboro-Central Valley
7) Ellendale-EK
8. Kidder County

Region 1
1) Milnor/North Sargent - Loose next to nothing off a good team.
2) Oakes - Return good qb and a lot of experience elsewhere.
3) Linton - Tough to put them any lower than 3rd, just off of tradition.
4) Carrington - I only saw them play of BEK. Was not impressed with them against a so so Rugby team.
5) Hillsboro-Central Valley - Would have been better off starting 11 man last year. Very well coached.
6) Northern Cass - Coaching change helped them last year, but lost some good players. Could be 5th.
7) Ellendale-EK - Excited to see them next year. Do not know much but EK has a good traditon.
8) Kedder County - They have had some good athletes, just have not been able to put much together.

Just to name a few.

Andrew Martinson - MNS
Wyatt Mund - MNS
Bryce Meehl - Oakes
Cole Erlin - Oakes
Taylor Kyllo - Northern Cass
Casey Springer - Northern Cass
Brooks Flyberg - Linton

Not sure who the top players are from the new teams in the Region 1. Lots of changes!

The top 3-4 teams could very well be finish in any order but seem to be a cut above the remaining 4 coming into the year.

1. Linton-HMB - Lot of excitement and expectations coming into the year. Coach Imdieke is a living legend.
2. Oakes - Return alot of talent from a very good team last year. Young, improving Coach and a very good QB in Bryce Meehl.
3. Milnor-NS - Also return a ton of talent. Can Mund and Bussman lead a magical run on the football field like they did on the court last winter? Hard to bet against them.
4. Carrington - This team played at the AA level last year, have to believe they are going to be tough in A.
5-8 Could be a crap shoot
Ellendale-EK - Brand new co-op, will be interesting to see how quickly they come together. Very good coach in Jon Schiele gives them a chance to compete right away. 2 very good RBs in Madcke and Belmore.
Northern Cass - I literally know nothing about this team.
Hillsboro-Central Valley - Great Hillsboro FB tradition is bound to help get this ship righted.
Kidder County - They will run the option effectively, Coach Jack Biesterfield knows it like the back of his hand.

I am going to take a stab at this I do not know much about these teams since I have not seen many of them play except for the teams that play 9 man and moved up

1 Milnor my understanding is they did not lose much off of last years team
2 Linton great winning tradition and very good atheletes
3 Oakes Have good return numbers
4 EEK This pick will depend on who goes out. I hope the kids can understand that to become a winner they must band together . Like EHS 1998 said they do have Madcke and Belmore but they also have some very good receives in White and Entzi at 6.4 each and very good hands. White could also be used as a full back with his size he would be hard to bring down. I also wouldn't leave out the Hildabrandt Kid He is quick and a good blocker I look for him to get the ball also. This team will depend on its line that is the last piece of the puzzle because the rest is in place. I hope all communities involved will explain to each other that this coop is about bringing a winning attitude. IF the Kids go out they will be much better then people think If they don't go out because they don't like the coop then the program will fail and that is not a option. I truly believe this is a start of a very good program. I can see this being harder for the Ellendale kids then the Ek Kids but let me assure you only good things came from that coop 2 state titles and numerous Regional titles and many many playoff appearances.
5 Hillsboro Seem to always be a good team
6 Carrington Probable should be higher but don't know much about them
7 Northern Cass Dont know much about them
8 Kidder County

As I said somehwere else, Carrington will be dangerous. They will make the playoffs and I have to believe they'll be the 1 or 2 seed. They always have a big line and their junior runningback Seth Aurbereau (something like that) will run wild. Kid is about as fast as it gets.

Ditto, except I'll give #2 to Linton, and #3 to Carrington(they have a few stud underclassmen, but seniors win games in ND FB)

I saw MNS and HCV play last night and it was quite competitive until the last minute of the 1st half. MNS led 28-12 and HCV turned it over on downs deep in MNS territory (maybe the 11 yard line) with about 1:10 remaining in the 1st half. MNS scored in 30 seconds to make it 35-12. Then HCV's QB had the ball stripped from him and MNS took the loose ball for another TD making it 42-12 at the half. Don't get me wrong MNS was clearly the better team, but it was very close to being a 1 score game at halftime instead of a 4 score game.

Can anyone give me some personal stats? top passers, rushers, receivers, tackles? Some good players in this region this year!
