1st Sioux vs. Bison game in the Alerus center. Kind of ironic.

have you seen hazen, heart river, and stanley play? heart river is a very fast misdirection team. blew em out. stanley is a fast power team...shut em out. no way wng will stop them or score. i'm not from hazen but have watched the west all year. i stand by my opinion.

I know they are technically considered an "Eastern team" because of the region they were put in, but does anyone else find it funny that WNG keeps getting referred to as an east team when they are only about thirty miles further east than Hazen is, and are actually further west then perennial "western" powerhouse Velva?
Just thought it was an interesting observation. Maybe you won't find it as such.

Stanley killed WNG 1st game of year. I understand teams can improve in a season but once again west just better than the east. Hazen is a good team. Stanley had too many mistakes on Saturday and it cost them a repeat. Running clock early second half. Hazen rolls.

Hmmm...Hazen has dominated teams in the playoffs including the defending state champs...W-N-G was behind at half during all three playoff games...outscored their last 3 opponents in the 2nd half 60-6. Name of the game will be speed as the Alerus turf will showcase team speed on all sides of the ball. Close to call but I will remain with the thought that the Comeback Kids will pull out one final victory with the score being...

W-N-G 34
Hazen 28

I am going to have to go with WNG for the state title. Their quarterback braaten is one of the best all around athletes I have ever seen. He'll lead his team to a win once again. WNG 32 Hazen 26

Really? 48-6? Some of you guys are just too funny. This is a team that has come back on 3 very good football teams and beat them. They have improved tremendously since beginning of the year. This just more fuel for their fire.

I am not adding fuel to the fire, I am simply stating my opinion for the game. Stanley defeated WNG 40-6, Hazen beat Stanley 14-0. The fact of the matter is the teams in the western regions this year in Class A football were superior to those in the eastern regions.

The west teams are always good, I know this, but WNG has one of the best and versatile athletes I've seen in a long time in Hunter Braaten. As long as Braaten is healthy by Friday, they have a chance.

I understand this Braaten kid is good, and he has brought his team back from barely making it to playoffs to the state championship, and more props to him. But when you go up against players like Carr (2 time all state QB) and Bornemann who has it all speed, agility, and power. Also not to mention their defense with who has proven themselves throughout the playoffs and also part of the season when some of their key players where injured like Austin Cieslak. So my opinion is Hazen-35, W-N-G-6.

Westhope lost to Bottineau. Bottineau went on to win 1 game all year in AA. Now, AA is a lot better but still, Bottineau wasn't very good. Hazen lost to Beulah in a close game. Beulah had 1 loss during the regular season and made it to the semifinals of AA. So tell me who's better...

Soooo Bottineau would win class A thats what your saying? Who beat who in the regular season means crap right now! I also picked Hazen to win but your logic doesn't add up in a one game playoff.

Take the NFL last year Giants win the superbowl with a 9-7 regular season record.
They lost to Washington twice, who only won a handful of game. So does that mean Washington is better? All that matter is who gets hot at the end and WGN is HOT right now.
