2012 Predictions

The fall season will soon be upon us, and the sights and sounds of Friday night lights are approaching. What teams are going to be playing in November this year?

If I remember right, could be wrong on this, Oakes will be pretty young this year. I would be surprised if they make a run. I could see them sneaking in and being a one and done, just getting some more experience. Next year and the year after I think they will be better.

Could Harvey make some noise this year?

Just wondering: How are Region 1 and Region 2 going to shake down as the season progesses?

Region 2 will be even weaker than last year, when all 4 teams were upended by Region 1 in the first round of the playoffs. Harvey has tons of talent to replace and could struggle on offense this year. Not sure on Region 1, but Maple Valley should be stronger this year after their surprising playoff run last season.

For region two... I see Harvey taking a step back this year. Not to say that they couldn't win the region, but they will be down from last year. Larimore looses some nice players, but I think their line will be better, and with that offence, that will be huge for them. I think Park River will once again make the playoffs. Not sure if they will be better than last year, but I like their line backers and think they will be formidable in the playoffs. I am not sure who else will make the playoffs from region 2, I think the experience West Hope gained last year could help propel them into the playoffs once again.

I tend to disagree with theallaroundballer about Maple Valley in region one. They just do not have enough coming back this year. I don't think they will make the playoffs.

My guess for region one would be..... 1) Linton HMB 2) Milnor/NS 3) Oakes 4) Northern Cass 5) MV/Enderlin 6) Kidder County 7) Oak Grove 8) MPCG

d_fense I agree with you that Harvey will be down. Lost too many senior skill positions players to expect the underclassmen to just pick up where they left off. Fessenden is giving them next to nothing as far as numbers, as Houchin will be the only contributor. They'll make the playoffs but it'll be another early exit as it has been the last few years.

HWC is returning more than half of there starters and houchin isnt the only returning starter, Haxton is a 2 time all stater at LB and will help out alot in the back field also

Best receiver and RB is probably returning in Houchin. Return best LB in Haxton. Defense might be softer than usual by losing Stumpf and all the other seniors.
