Hazen vs Velva....game of the week!!!

Velva always improves and Hazen has a bunch from last year! I will give Hazen the edge though.

Stanley should beat Heart River, I hear it is a BEARCAT to play in Stanley. Home field must rule there!

Linton has solid a solid line. I give them the edge.

Mapel Valley/Enderlin vs Oakes...toss up! Whomever can make the big plays will take this one! Special teams maybe?

I find it interesting that Hazen and Stanley-Powers lake were the only two teams not to allow any points against them in the first round. Now may be the time to talk about the best defense in the state. I see Stanley-Powers Lake meeting Hazen and that will be one to watch. Of coarse I would like to see SPL take that one. They played each other last year in first round, Stanley has improved immensely since and they gave Hazen some competition last year. Both teams have most of last years teams back. If this is how the match up ends up, how is the field determined?

each region alternates years in which they host if both #1's make it to the semi's.

When like seeds play each other on odd numbered years the odd numbered region will host the game on even numbered years the even numbered region will host.....so with it being 2011 if the two 1 seeds make it to the semi-finals (i.e. Hazen and Stanley/PL) then Stanley/PL would host the game since they are the region 3 team...this is why Watford hosted Velva last year and the year before Velva hosted Watford City in their respective semi-final games in 2009 and 2010...hope that clears it up.
