The Linton-HMB @ MV-E is a big test for both teams in Region 1. I will go w/ MV-E by a touchdown.

The Berthold/Stanley game should be a good one. Lots of people picking Stanley, which is understandable being the 3rd ranked team in the state. I wouldnt sleep on Berthold tho. Have a good running game, and can also throw the ball very well. Defense has done a pretty decent job all year also, starters have allowed 4 tds on the year. The other 2 tds came from the Watford City starters in the 4th qtr against the jv. Its going to be a very fun game to watch.

Berthhold has a very good team, but Stanley has the reputation of a good team year in year out. Not everybody is picking Stanley, Velva would like to see Bethold to win. If that would happen then if they could pull off a win against them it would be a three way tie.

Just came from Stanley Powers Lake/Berthold OR game...Stanley 52, Berthold OR 6. I was not expecting that. SPL just keeps getting better and better as the season progresses and they have so many versatile players. They all have a great time on the field and are very good friends too. They are a very fun team to watch. Roerich had 239 yds rushing at half...He had an absolutley awesome game. I would be surprised if he is not all state pick this year.

I agree with ya mama_bird, not the game i was expecting to see. I thought Berthold would put up atleast somewhat of a fight. After seeing the Bombers the last 2 weeks, Velva will beat them fairly handily next friday nite unless there are some "mental toughness" changes. To play with the Velvas, Stanleys, Harveys and Hazen teams here in the west, u need to be very hard nosed, Berthold is lacking that as a team. That is just my opinion tho.

Ouch. I know when our team is doing well we are putting younger players in. However, it has not seemed to make much difference in the games. Does Heart River have the numbers to put JV in at the half or where ever that needs to be done?

Heart River coach left his starters in for two more scores against Southern McLean also. I don't think much of him as a coach. His players were humble in victory and even Sr. Jordan Strecker realized that pounding a hundred pound freshmean into the dirt is a little ridiculous. He backed off, I wish his coach was as mature.
