Region 1 is probably Maple Valley-Enderlin

Region 1's best D belongs to Linton. Maple Valley Enderlin has not thrown a shutout yet and allowed 14 points to MPCG and 10 to Oak Grove. Neither of those teams may score more points in a game all year than they did vs MVE. Griggs Barnes County also has not scored more points against any other team than they did vs MVE. Wait until they have to play the top three teams in their region.

MVE gave up those 14 points with their JV in the game and Oak Grove only scored 6 points against MVE and that was on their JV also.

MPCG and Oak Grove still have to play each other. That will be their best chance to score more points than vs. MVE. Not trying to bash here, just putting my opinion out there. MVE has has the easiest schedule so far in region 1. Thinking back to what MVE lost last year, I think this year they have some very good skill position players, but will struggle vs teams that have size and experience on the line. This Friday will go a long way in getting a clear picture when Linton HMB travels to Enderlin. Linton has played two of the better teams in the region, holding Oakes and Milnor/North Sargent to seven points each. If Linton wins, the region title is theirs. If MVE wins, there is a very good chance of a three team tie for first.

Oak Grove still has Northern Cass and MPCG. They should score double digits in each game

Northern Cass seems to be coming around a bit. They played Oakes pretty well, and rolled it up on MPCG.

Oak Grove has no chance against a Northern Cass team with momentum and confidence

Park River and Harvey-Wells County for region 2. Both have hard hitters and allow few points. Will be a great game when they meet each other!

Not trying to squash the hopes of NC they got some good kids, but oakes was ahead 27-0 at the beginning of the 4th, with NC having less than 75 yards of total offense. oakes put their jv in the beginning of the 4th. they score 2 tds on oakes's jv. oakes then put their varsity offense back in and promptly ripped off a 50 yard run, ran a few plays and kneeled to run the clock out. just wanted to clarify how the game turned out. It was the only pts oakes has gave up this season besides the linton game.

Since this seems to be mostly Region 1 fans, rank the 8 teams in Region 1, defensively.

Stanley/PL out of region 3. Their defense held Berthold OR scorless. The only points for Berthold came off of a interception return. Stanley also held Velva scoreless until about 1:24 in the fourth quarter. And other than that i think alot of Stanley's opponents have scored on Stanley's JV.

I would agree that in Region 3 it has to be Stanley-Powers Lake. In 5 games they've given up only 32 points and most have been scored on the second or third stringers. They gave up 12 to Williams Co to open the season, 6 to Garrison-Max, 8 to Velva, 0 to DLB and 8 to L&C-Our Redeemers on the interception.

i would have to say hazen as well for Region 4 they held heart rivers high scoring offense to only 12 points. But right after Hazen would be Heart River or Killdeer

Not real close to this but Oake's D sure seems to be stingy.

I think you are correct. These boys are an amazing bunch of young men...they all continue to stay focused and continue to improve.
