Just wondering whats up with the Carrington football program? Just short of talent, young?? This has been a pretty good football program for a long time why such the drop the past few years? Doesn't even seem like they are competitive?

I've wondered the same thing; drop in numbers, coaching change?

Interestingly enough it seems like Carrington has dropped off the map since Marty Hochhalter left.

Carrington started a youth program a couple years ago and their 8th graders this year are big and talented.

Hopefully coach Hoeckle can do something with the talent.

When hochhalter left they started to struggle. This year he was back as assistant. They do have a very good freshman class this year. some big guys and a talented running back.

playing tough was their problem last year. They were tied with Hatton-Northwood at the half but got crushed the second half

They have a really some good underclassman coming up. The freshman class this year was 7-1 in 7th grade and they have a big line in that grade also. in a couple of years they will be back among the top in the state. hopefully

Talked to a former cardinal. Hochhalter left when the gettin was good. No numbers, no speed, no size. Next years Senior class has 2 FB players. Lack of upper classmen with no linemen or speed have made it tough on the Cardinals. They have a good coach, but it will probably be another year before they make their way back to the playoffs.
