This one shouldn't be close. Bottineau only beat Belcourt by 8 when they were fully healthy. Now their starting QB is out, so they start who I think is a freshman. Also, I saw at least 3 of their starters go down with fairly signifigant injuries last week against Bishop Ryan. One blew his knee out I heard and another was hauled out in an ambulance. I saw another with a knee injury. Not sure how serious that was, but point is, they are extremely banged up. This one shouldn't be close.

Did this surprise anyone? I personally thought it was going to be a good game.
Do you think Trinity just isn't very good, or do you think St. Mary's is just THAT good?

thats ok but not so impressive. the rushing yards are a bigger deal than the passing yards. i try follow Cavalier's team and JAred Mac has much bigger games than that for passing yards. Does grafton have as much talent at reciever as Cavalier? that makes a big differnce. how would you compare his arm strength to Mac's. i know that Hanson is just getting back from an injury. will be intersting to follow him the next few games to see if he can post any bigger numbers although team victories are more important. i know he had a big game or two last year. not many ND QBs make it to any college level. hard to get any exposure. just my opinion.

I can't imagine too many QB's have any more arm strength than Mack. The guy is a gorilla. Hanson is more slippry, but Mack is just a brut. Mack has more potential to play college just because of his size. Team wise, I think Cavalier would probably beat Grafton this year if they played heads up. Cavalier is senior dominated and Grafton is junior dominated. If Cavalier were in AA east like in the past, I'd say they would probably be in 3rd behind Shanley and Lisbon. Maybe even second? Nobody is gonna beat Shanley, in my opinion.

mack might have potential at college, but it wont be at quarterback. unless you are talking crookston or lake region. to short and slow. dont forget that he has two great recievers that make him look good. bigger than any two starting reciever in any college in ND including und and ndsu. combing that with the average D back he has to throw against 5 foot 7 inch jr that ways 145 lbs. its like playing 500 in the back yard aginst your sister. he could be a good defensive player but size will get in his way there as well. he is one of those kids that will be great in high school but not so much in college. is he talking to any colleges now. probably not.

that was my point. i guess you didnt catch my attemp at humor. nothing against mack as a player, i think he is obviously a great high school player. i think he will have a tough time breaking into a college line up as a quarterback. JMHO

I wasn't meaning to imply that Mack would make a college QB either. I just meant that because of his strength he should be able to find a spot to play football after high school. For God's sake, Mayville must be looking for somebody. Anyway, we should be talking about him over in the 11A section.

As for Hanson from Grafton, I think he is a very good high school QB, but he would need more size to move into college as a football player. He is only a junior, so maybe he can hit some weights and size up. Maybe?
