AA only 8 games next year??

There is a blog entry by a Dickinson Press reporter where he talked about if Trinity could/would ever play Dickinson high in football. One thing mentioned in there is that Randy Gordon apparently told him that they can only schedule 8 games next year. Is that Trinity's own restriction, or is AA going to eight games (maybe eliminating that short week around teacher's convention)? I don't understand why else they would do this. Here's the deal - Class A teams start their Region schedule a week earlier than the AA. I assume DT has a game for Week 1, but not Week 2, because Class A is already is playing region games. Watford City and Hazen will have their 5 Region games plus two or three playing partners from the closest Class A region. Since the AA West only has 8 teams, that means only 7 games, plus the Week 1 game against a Class A team. The Week 2 game for AA is where alot of teams are having trouble. They either have to play a AA West team twice or play a AA East team, which doesn't make sense.

Why does it not make sense for a AA West Team to play a AA East Team? Trinity did that for years vs. Valley City. Just Wondering

I should have been more clear. It does make sense, but ND schools today seem so concerned with travel. Should it happen. Probably. But we will have to wait until the schedules come out to see who decides to travel.

A lot of A teams only play 8 games a year, one a week. We've been doing that for a few years now. We find that one game a week is enough. We play Ryan then into our region games next year. AA could do this just as well.

This is dumb
