Bismarck beat Valley City 41-10 and they’re tied in the rankings. Interesting.

So lets say the regular season was 16 games long, and VC continued its win streak....and finished 12-4, and STM ended up 6-10. You'd still be clinging to that one game? Yeahhhh but back in week 2..... !

FYI:
1.) what happens in week 2 doesn't trump the rest of the season's games
2.) polls don't matter in this case. they are for fun.
3.) if it makes ya feel better, in "my" poll, I have STM #2.

But in reality the regular season is not 16 games long and valley is 5-2 while Bismarck is 3-3. Much different being 5-2 and 3-3 than being 12-4 and 6-10. I also do not believe that because of one really bad 2nd half of a game you should throw everything they did in the early weeks away. I am guessing it is fairly rare for a ND AA team to lose by 30 then beat the same team later in the season. Bismarck's three losses are to Shanley (#3 AAA), Hillsboro-CV (#1AA) and Beulah (#2 AA) so it is not like they are losing game to bad teams.

Lastly, why does everyone say "the polls are just for fun" every time someone comments on them? Is commenting on the rankings not one of the fun parts of them?

Bismarck has 3 losses.... Why are they even in the top 5. Not saying they are not a good football team but there has been many good football teams that don't do anything.
They should be AAA anyway.

I don't care who they lost to. They still lost. Play who comes to the field. Yes they lost to the best teams. Valley City 2 losses are to of the best and beat Kindred on their home field when Kindred was ranked 2nd.

So Valley City should be number 2, but they lost to Beulah, So Beulah should be 1 but Bismarck played well against Beulah but lost so they should be 1 but HCV has beat them all... I am confused.

Just saying if you lost 3 times you should not be in the top 4 right now in the State.

There are only 11 teams...ranking 5 seems a bit ridiculous anyways...but because of that they are in the poll.

Polls are confusing because do you use past results for everything or do use current results...which ever ‘system’ you use seems to be wrong to someone.

Up to this point of the season, this poll seems to be fair and logical. After this week’s games I don’t expect to see any changes in next week’s final poll. That being said, I believe any two of these teams could end up playing at the Dome. When it comes to playoff football, past performance and polls mean nothing!
