Anyone have any thoughts on the game? St. Mary's defeated Shanley 21-7.

Congrats to St. Mary's, very good all around football team. I almost did not want to root for them because of the incident that happened earlier in the year resulting in the players suspensions. It is a good story about how they overcame all of that to win the state title but it does kind of send the message of "high school athletes can make terrible choices and not have to worry because it will still work out in the end."

Lack of passing games was very apparent, but these two teams were very good and have many talented players. Anybody know where some of these kids are getting recruited?

So at what point do we let mistakes go and move on? Yes those boys made a mistake, but they had to go through practice for six weeks without playing and earn their way back on the field. Decisions can either make or break a person and choosing to grind through mistakes to help fulfill a teams dream proves that they obviously regretted a decision, showed some character, and decided to make choices for the team. Everyone deserves a second chance and I believe that they EARNED theirs. Congrats SM!

I think it sends the message. If you make a mistake, rectify the situation and move on. No one is perfect.
