Run- in the West, I was thinking Watford at #3 and the winner of tonight's Beulah @ Griggs/Barnes Co game at #4.

Either way, it looks like Minot Ryan at #1 and a 4 horse race for the other 3 spots. St. Mary's get's the nod at #2 because of that week 1 win over Shanley, but 1st games can be funny. I think they need one more quality win to solidify that spot (not their fault they don't have that quality win yet- just scheduling). Even so, I'll admit that the Minot Ryan v St. Mary's game could end up being a classic 1 vs. 2 battle... when and where is that?

Scheme-wise, BR is on a whole different level than anyone in the state

After watching them, they seem to be somewhat diverse in the run game and they're passing schemes are excellent. They have good route combos and run many plays out of many formations. This is rare in ND high school football from what I've seen. Plus they did all of this out of no-huddle which impressed me.

How does Ryans defense look? They are putting up a ton of points each game so we know they have a potent offense. I noticed that Kindred put up 24 points on them during week 2 but were they garbage 4th quarter points? Should be a great match up in October between St. Mary's stingy defense and Minot Ryan's high scoring offense. Not that St. Mary's can't score points or Minot Ryan can't stop teams. Both are leaders 1 and 2 in offensive points and 1 and 2 in defensive points.

Ryan in No Way is on a different level. I would be surprise if St. Mary's does not come out with the win tonight.

Kindred had Ryan Beat but a few mental errors and Ryan got the win.

Shanley with the running game really impressed me but I just don't know if the line will hold up for another state title. Grafton had them beat but fell apart in the end.

Lisbon has really surprised me. I don't think anybody can stop their run game... who ever they are playing they better hope for good weather because if there is wind and rain or snow.... Lisbon has some power.

What in the world happened in lisbon? Did Lisbon over look valley? Injuries? Maybe valley has a good smash mouth defense.

I said they were on a different level scheme-wise. Wasn't talking about talent level. As for their defense, from what I've seen it looks pretty tough. I don't know what happened in the Kindred game. Box score said it was 34-14 then Kindred scored twice late so maybe it was garbage time, not sure.

The Ryan-Kindred game I watched, Ryan had a couple mental mistakes and gave Kindred 12 quick points. Then Ryan's defense chased Kindreds quarterback right off the field.
