So if Carrington beats Bottineau in week 7, they will lead the west at 5-0 and their only loss of the season will be by 18 to Valley City, who will probably be 0-5 in the east (assuming they lose to Shanley). Is the east that dominant? Any chance we could see an all east semi final round?

I was just thinking about the other day of the west being dominant because Wahpeton is the third best team in the east and was number 1 in the state for awhile, but yet St Mary's (1 win on the year) should have beat them the first game. I think you have to take into account that the first game of the year is much different than a mid season game, and people have bad games against teams they should have beat.

Well, I guess I'm not going by who should have won. I was going more by who actually did win. Everybody gets better as the season goes on, as long as they stay healthy.

In east vs. west this year so far.

East has won 6
VC 18 - Carrington 0
VC 14 - Trinity 12
Wahp 34 - Mary 28
Cass 28 -Beulah 12
Grafton 38 - Rugby 7
Lisbon 14 - Mary 6

West has won 1
Carrington 13 - GBC 0

And Wahpeton's early number one ranking was largely based on them beating Mary (who preseason was supposed to be best in the west) and VC (a team that beat Carrington and Trinity).

Now, I'm not predicting an east sweep in the opening round, but I think at least 3 of the east teams will be favored in the quarter finals.

I agree that the East will have 3 in semis, along with Carrington... for what its worth i have watched a couple VC games as well as Cgtn. I have no doubt Cgtn would beat VC now. All of Carrington's talent are underclassmen, I suspect they played VC like a bunch of rookies. They looked very tough against Bishop Ryan last Friday.
