Russ Smith also passed away, he was a long time broadcaster in the Minot area.  Anybody who grew up in the Northwestern part of the state has listened to Russ broadcast basketball games for years.  He was my Howard Cosell growing up.  We'll miss ya.

Russ Smith and Lee Halvorson. You know who I really enjoy now is Jon Cole that guy is the only TV guy with any personality.

Jon Cole is what brings the State Tournaments down.  He is just so stupid the stuff he says.

Every time you post all you can say is something negative.  Definetly a lack of maturity.

i have to agree with Batman, everytime baseball has a post, it brings down someone or something. this site is about how great north dakota high school sports are, not bash everything someone writes.

I'm not trying to be negative in any way, but Jon Cole ask some pretty "out there" questions.  Take for instance the Girls Class B Tourney, opening round.  Adams-Edmore just lost a heart breaker on a last second freethrow.  Cole asks Sara Sorbo, who made the foul,"So tell us about that last foul there...":smack: WHAT? Are you kidding? And that's exactly what she said too.  What do you expect her to say? Way to make her feel like crap in front of the whole state buddy.  I just think he needs to think ahead a little bit before he asks his questions.

Thank you Jimmie44 for clarifying that point.  I don't mind when someone brings up a point and then uses examples to back up his statement.  What really bothers me is when someone says something like "That guy is terrible, he shouldn't even play".  If you have something negative to say please be able to back your statements up with evidence.  Otherwise it just looks like you're bashing.

They all have their bad day's, just like you and I. Jon Cole is a top notch sports reporter. I remember a couple years ago when Fargo North lost in the girls title game and Lee Timmerman asked Carissa Jahner how bad the loss felt, and having her dad deployed over in Iraq. touche^
