3-1 in the opening round of the state tournament. Central will probably take state but that is beside the point. The majority of WDA teams beat the EDC teams. And Red River didn't even make state so you can't say it's a down year for the East when a good team like that doesn't even make state.

Central taking state is everything inclusive of the point. An EDC team should still take the cake. Being that Central is the only East team that didn't lose significant talent from last year out of the top 4 EDC teams (Grafton, South, RR, Central). It is a down year for the EDC. Really, this doesn't need to be brought up. Yes, the WDA has three teams in the semis, good for them, proud of it. However, being cocky about it only gives credit to those who hound WDA teams and say they're no good when Central runs over everybody.

Mind you, Central is pretty much the same team they had last year, the same team that South and RR both beat (and handily at times). Therefore, yes, the EDC is down. Central is rolling through everything this year other than a couple of trouble spots. Be proud of your teams, not cocky.
