why minot? home ice? hahahaha its going to be between century and high, bhs is playing good solid hockey right now. century is scoring tons of goals, and allowing none. they have been averaging 7 goals for and 1 against in their last twelve games. should be exciting to watch.

simply put minot doesnt have the offense to win the tournament.....I think they have about a 50% chance to beat mandan first round. I wouldnt be shocked if they went 2 and BBQ. I think its going to be an all Bismarck final with Bismarck winning a close game over williston in the semis.....should be some great games this weekend.

Questions?
How are the teams paired for the state qualifying games on Sat. and can two teams play each other more than once in a double elimination tourny?

There are two brackets. 1,8,4,5 seeds and 2,3,6,7 seeds. The winners of the loser out games, and the
losers of the semi-final games will go cross bracket and play teams from the other bracket. The seed that won a first round game from each bracket will play the loser of the first round game in the other bracket. Ex. tomorow the mandan/century loser will play the Bottineau/Dickinson winner and the Williston/Bismarck loser will play the Minot/Jamestown winner.

No, you cannot play a team twice.

Congratulations Bottineau Braves. It's been a long wait since 1993.

It doesn't matter if BHS beat CHS they are both still going to state and Century will win State this season

The BHS win was huge because of the bracket they were placed in for state. CHS won't get past the 1st round.

I think both teams will win but ya I would rather play WF come tourney time. Grafton just seems to find ways to win when it counts the most.

I agree, it's nice to see some different teams in the big show instead of the same old, same old. Hopefully some of these programs can step up to the level of BHS & CHS on a year to year basis. It would also be nice to see more than 1 team from the WDA in the semi-finals, hopefully this is the year. If GF RR can see their state tourney streak end, maybe some other streaks can end too and a team from the west can win it all this year!

I'd like to see some of those other teams like Bottineau and Century get to the semi-finals. I don't think any team is beating Central though...too much fire power.

Bottineau has been going to state since the 60's although this is the first trip since 1993. They have only made it to the semi's once. In 1977 they beat South in overtime in the quarters. They were trailing Red River 3-2 going into the 3rd period in the semis but ended up losing badly. They were skating basically 2 lines and just tired out. This is the same year Central and Red River skated to a 1-1, 8 overtime tie and were declared co-champions. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think anyone had ever won the state championship except Central up until that year. Even then they got a share of it.
