When is the last time Bottineau beat BHS??? A few years ago, BHS was playing their JV against Bottineau and beating them. I know Bottineau is pretty good this year, but I didn't realize that BHS was struggling this badly. I also know that Bottineau is a tough rink to play in. Anyway, congrats to Bottineau on the win. Now lets see them do it again if they meet in the WDA tournament.

Bottineau has a very skilled team. The game could have been 5 to 2 easily. CHS is still, in my opinion, the team to beat in the west as they are the deepest of the top four teams. With that being said, any of these teams (top 4 WDA) could beat each other on any night. Bismarck High proved that. High is struggling to score right now but I would guess they will be back on track by WDA time.

I think it was during the 96 season to answer your question.

Thanks Clark17, I figured it had been a long time. The WDA Tourney should be a good one, at least on the 2nd/3rd nights.

Minot High comes to the Lumberdome and knocks off Bottineau tonight 2-1. Meddler was the difference maker tonight with 44 saves, also Minot did a real nice job of keeping the Millican line bottled up. Alot of Bottineau's shot were with 0 traffic in front of Meddler. These kid need to learn you have to get traffic in front of a good goaltender or they are not gonna win games come tournament time. Congrats to Minot on a solid performance.

Medler does deserve a lot of credit for his performance especially a couple of huge saves late in the third. That being said, Minot played a disiplined hockey game supporting the puck, not giving up the odd man rush and keeping the Breves bottled up. The biggest key to the game was Minot forwards pressuring the Bottineau Defence and not letting them make make clean passes to the speedy forwards. Shots were lopsided but Bottineau did not get a lot from inside the dots and were lacking traffic in front of Medler. Minot did have a lot of shots blocked because they were waiting too long to shoot. They need to remember that they are not shooting on Medler in the games and a shot on net isn't always the best play, but it's never a bad play. There were rebounds to be had, but no one there to knock them home. It also appeared that Bottineau's attempt to get Minot frustrated backfired and they were frustrated at the end of the game and took a bad penality with 2:43 left in the 3rd. Bottineau is a great team and I am looking forward to the rematch in Minot. Kudos to Minot for rolling into Bottineau's nookie blankie and playing to their potential in front of a packed house.

P.S. try the hot cider from the concessions stand, it's phenominal.

Medler did play very well. Minot definitely was the more disciplined team.

Yes that penalty with 2:43 left was a killer for Bottineau as they seemed to be controlling the play at that point. Really what is the point of spraying the goalie in the face with snow? I can see it if you are getting rid into the goalie by a d-man but this kid could have just skated by and got ready for a faceoff. Very irratating.

Sounds like the bottineau-minot game was good. Do they play again this year? I would like to watch the Century-Bottineau game this weekend if I'm around. I'm predicting Century will win, 4-2.

Ya Minot and Bottineau play again on the 10th in Minot. I think I'm going to make the drive down to Bismarck on Saturday to watch Century and Bottineau. Should be a good game. I hope Bottineau can pull one out but it will be tough.

Bottineau came out flat and Century took advantge of it. Century is pretty quick up front and solid back on the blue line. I still think Bottineau can play with them but they need to wake up and show they are ready to compete with these top teams. I don't know how you can't get pumped up for a game that could put you in the drivers seat for a region title but whatever I guess.

MHS-2 JHS-1. This Jamestown team has suprised me this year. They have "hung in there" in almost every game they have lost (exceptions maybe BHS 4-0 and CHS 5-2). I got a feeling they could win one when it counts.

Jamestown outshot them 38-25 as well...Medler must have had one of those games...Jamestown is going to be a scary team come tournament time.

Jamestown has also had some very close games with some top East Region Teams...losing to DL 4-3 in OT...Losing to FN 4-3...and losing to WF 3-1 in which WF scored an empty netter with 1 second left in the game and Jamestown outshot them. DL is 6th in east. FN is 5th. And WF is tied for 1st.

Bottineau gets out of scoring slump with 11-1 win over Mandan. Not very impressed with Bottineau's play in the defensive zone though, and what is with all these high school kids trying to make the cute little backhand cut passes in the neutral zone. It is starting to drive me nuts.

Minot and Fargo Davies skate to a 4-4 ot tie. Minot led 4-0 after 1st period. 4 straight goals by Fargo Davies to tie it, 2 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd.

Not a real good showing for the west last night. 3rd in the West vs. 8th in the east 4-4. Also 4th vs. 7th, BHS loses in ot to South 2-3. These two east teams most likely will not be at the state tournament. South could possibly slip in as the east is somewhat unsettled at this time. I would like to have seen Minot and BHS handle these two clubs. Minot was on their way, what happened? They really blew a 4-0 lead? RR tonight, hope I'm wrong but I don't think it will be good. Century at South too. If they can't beat South in sound fashion the west, in my opinion, should probably stay home the last weekend in Feb.

Century did beat south in good fashion 5-0 after the second. But South came out strong in the 3rd period with 3 goals. Final score 7-3

2nd place in the west is up for grabs tonight as Bottineau travels to Minot. Whoever wins finishes 2nd in the regular season. I think Bottineau will beat Minot with speed on the bigger ice sheet. I got Bottineau 4-2.
