I really don't think RR should be embarrassed at all. They lost in overtime to South (probably the second best team in the state) the night before, and I'm sure they played their hearts out against a decent WF team. They just came up short. Going to state for 42 years in a row is nothing to be ashamed of. Red River kids should be proud of what they have been able to accomplish over the years.

Grafton, West Fargo, and Minot beat Bismarck High so I wouldn't consider them the state's second best team. Century lost to Bismarck High twice, West Fargo, and Central, which wasn't even a close game (shots were 43 - 12). Furthermore, sweeping teams like Bottineau, Hazen / Beulah, Dickinson, and Minot isn't exactly impressive.

Looking at previous games played is very misleading. BHS beat Fargo South 6 - 2 and the following week, Fargo South beat Central 4 - 2. Using that logic, BHS should be 6 goals better than Central. That being said, it is very clear that both CHS and BHS have greatly improved throughout the season. BHS is very physical (just ask South) and CHS is very skilled. I also find it very interesting that no one is giving Williston any love. Mr. Nelson is very fun to watch and South better be ready for a very good top line from Williston.

Keep this topic clean please. But yes, it's the first time Red River has not qualified for a state tournament in school history.

I think South may have some trouble against Willys top line but after that South will dominate Williston.

I don't feel remotely bad for Red River. They didn't do what they needed to make it to state. However, you got to give it to a school with an amazing record like that.

I don't feel bad for 'em either. It's about time that some of the other teams get a chance to compete at State. No GF vs. GF this year! And yeah...a 42 year run at state is amazing. My hometown (Jamestown) is lucky to make it there once.

Your right bismark can definately not be considered the second best.. they lost in the championship in state.

I stand corrected. The west showed up pretty big this year. Good for them. I tip my hat, and admit it. PS - I did say South was "probably" the second best team in the state.
