I think someone is a little sensitive about taking fourth...

I have to agree w/ nothinghappened, the economy is tough but I have a better idea. Why don't we just give the state championship to Central right now and the kids can go and get a job to help out their parents. Central only lost 4 players. This is a no-brainer. Heck imagine if the parents didn't have to buy sticks and other equipment AND the kids worked......economic crisis diverted.

RR will be third next year, I know they overachieved this year but it won't happen again.
Poor GPR, if I was Jay Haugland I would get out of Dodge.
WF will be the sleeper pick and
South will be tough as usual, they'll still have a bunch of seniors.

You are right, central is going to be really good next year. BUT we can't just give them the title. They still have to show that they can earn it. If we just went by who is talked about being the best, then South would have won this year, but as we all know that definatly did not happen.

Oh I know, I was just having some fun with the post. I guess GFC has to go out and earn it. On a serious note high expectations can be very difficult to live up to.

With Jake Ladouceur and great goaltending, Red River will be the number one team in the East next year

South was the most experienced team in the state last year, Central was relatively young. You can't really ask for more than Central did against them going .500 with South in a year where they had 4 losses.

I see Central taking the cake next year. South and Red River will be contenders with South having the edge on Red River. Red River lost the two reasons they took it this year (Crary and Meland). South returns a goalie that has trouble when he doesn't get a lot of shots, but now that they only return one defeseman in Hooey, he'll be seeing plenty of shots and can maintain focus. South also returns some great scorers so they have the chance to pull an upset on Central like RR did on South and Bismarck. However, I still see Central with the first place in their hands until they give it up to someone else (Like South did, and RR did the year before). However, they'll need to find some more offensive power or else they may get into trouble running into a hot goalie.

EDC Regular Season
1. Central
2. South
3. Red River
4. West Fargo

I see your point but Central loses a lot of key players and South returns there three top scorers which is worth 127 points and Central loses there top scorer and there next three is only worth 91 points

I put that down as regular season title. I don't know if Central will have the firepower to get them through what State requires. State requires 'clutch' players that get the job done when it counts. See Crary/Meland this year, Demers last year, and all preceding state champions likely had that one player that pulled them through State majorly.

You have got to be kidding me. No clutch players! OK, just watch. Copy this post, paste it in word, save it until Central wins state w/ clutch plays then tell me I'm right. Central not only will be deeper than any other team, they have a great all-state goalie. I will bet that they have 5 forwards with more than 30 points each next year. This is a team sport and they will have a great team, not a couple superstars. Oh, and by the way defensively we will be deep and talented as well.

I'm glad we can see some humor here, but Central could take their JV team and beat Whap.

its true that you need a clutch player but i would much rather have balance in an attack then depending on one person to score, rr this year had goals from many different people to get them to the state championship, and russel got the clutch goal, so i guess you need both

Red Rivers going to be yet again a dominating force next year. Chris Waind will lead the defense and break anyone who gets in hes way. Laducers pretty much a shoe-in for Mr. Hockey at this point, and with matt malm coaching the riders....nuff said

HA! not only will he do it, but when he does, im gonna come back on here and laugh in your face. he was one of the top players in the state this year (states leading scorer) and he will be one of the top players, if not thee best player again next year. come back and read this after the season is over next year and you will know what im talking about

I think Ladouceur will do just fine, and if they run up the score on Wahp again like last year he'll be up there again. :)

However, I think he's getting left behind with not much to offer. Crary and Meland carried RR through the end of last season, and it'll be difficult to do that under the radar two years in a row. Unfortunately for RR, I think it'll be a fight between GFC/South and possibly Bismarck.
Whomever wins EDC will not take first in State, I'll just put that out there.

if luke johnson stays i guess i could see ladeucer having another good year, but not like this.

if johnson leaves, ladeucers linemates are gonna be a couple guys who barely broke half his point total combined. not to mention the lack of offensive support from his defense?

youve got to be kidding me
