EDC Tournament: WF 1 GPR 8; FS 5 Shan 2; GFC 11 DL 1

Topics merged - Use viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6540 instead of creating a new topic for every game, or else the EDC forum will have a ridiculous amount of clutter by the end of EDC. -HH

Just wondering why such a blow out?

EDC Tournament: Shanley- 2 vs. South- 5

Postby fargohockey1093 » Thu Feb 19, 2009 9:39 pm

Sounded like a close game. 3-0 end of second period, 3-2 with about 4 minutes left with a couple scoring opportunities for shanley... comments?

Was this game close at any point? What was the shot count?

It was never close, and all the info on the games can be found in the EDC thread pinned in the main Hockey forum.

It was relatively close for the first period and a half, and then GPR exploded. Before that, both GPR and WF seemed to be having chances. GPR's explosion led to something like 6 goals. Again, no need to make a new thread for each game, use the EDC topic in the main hockey forum and it won't get so crowded.

South out shot Shanley 49-17. A hot goalie can get you a close game, but a hot goalie will not win you a game, like I've said all along. South's going to need to start capitalizing by tomorrow night or they'll be in trouble. GPR doesn't have nearly as strong a goaltender as Stokke has been doing lately, however. Not saying Stokke is God, but he does very well when his team keeps shots to the outside, but gets into trouble when players get close and can go around him.

Again, for now on please use the EDC topic, or these forums will get cluttered with 10-15 threads by the end of EDC.

Wasn't Devils Lake ahead 1-0? And wasnt it only like 3-1 at the end of the 2nd period?

Nice to see Fargo South winning the EDC Title. Hopefully they can pull off winning the State Title! Good luck to them and to all the teams for the upcoming week, for the State Tourney!
