Blaine 1 GPR 0. Start of third


really good game so far as i can tell. Nd boys showing they can skate with the best of MN.

THt u of M recruit on blaine is GOOD.

gfc was up in the third 2-0 ..... then rouseau scored 3.

GFC played all but 2 min. very well. Controlled the game. Then....we took a penalty, they pulled the goalie, 6 on 4. They scored, then they scored again, and again. That was a tough one to watch. I couldn't even stick around for the RR Jeff game. Too frustrated.

Jason Stadstad Hockey Classic updates
Grand Forks Herald

Blaine scored five third-period goals to defeat Grand Forks Red River 6-3 in the Herald Jason Stadstad Hockey Classic today in Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Russel Crary had two goals for the Roughriders. Brock Dahl scored the other.

Nick Bjugstad, a University of Minnesota recruit, led the Bengals with one goal and four assists.

Eric Scheid, Luke Bayer, Ryan Brockman, Travis Kovalchuk and Gavin Tufte also scored for Blaine.

Red River goalie Mitch Byrne had 35 saves. Blaine's Danny Harper had 24 stops.

Blaine is undefeated and ranked seventh in the Minnesota state Class AA poll.
