Well, the game is Saturday afternoon!
What is your predicted winner and final score?
I hate to say it but I think RR will win 4-2.
I hope I am wrong.

all everyone can hope for in this game (and GPR fans especially), is that they don't do what they did vs. Minot.
this game does not matter in the rankings(as I see it on the ND website)
so who knows , maybe GFRR will pull a GPR and play back-up goalie and etc.

On paper this should be a good game.
Good luck to all involved

This is GP-R's superbowl. For RR, this is just another game. So i think GPR will come out fired up and surprise the riders in the fist period going up 2-0 then the meland schaefer crary line gets started and gets 3 in the 2nd. Then GPR scores on a lucky bounce in the third to make it 3-3. Then thats how the game will end.

Actually, this game has the # 1 seed into the EDC tournament on the line. IF Grafton-Park River beats GF Central tonight AND beats GF Red River by 2 goals on Saturday ... the Spoilers, I believe, will be the number one seed. Both teams (Red River and Grafton-PR) would then have 30 points in regular season play. The tie breaker is head to head (which would be 1-1) ... then it goes to total goals. Red River beat Grafton-Park River on Jan. 5th, 5-4. Stranger things have happened. Should be some great games to close out the EDC regular season.

Honestly, the seedings are just for EDC tourney placement, and the seedings for EDC place you in State. Conference seedings don't mean much overall, as long as you get to state (which shouldn't be difficult for the top teams, usually). More or less just bragging rights. At State, going by the tendency for the East to be more competitive than the West, the #3 seed in the East is a tougher opponent than the #1 Seed in the West (TENDENCY SPEAKING), so getting 2nd in the EDC is actually an advantage (Generally!).
What I'm trying to get across is, getting to EDC, and placing as second is the best position a team can generally get placed in if the top 3 teams in the east are very close (IE RR/South/GPR last year). Although South beat RR in EDC last year and took the #1 seed, they had to play GPR (close game won near the buzzer) and played heavier competition, even though RR had some trouble with Williston in the Quarters.
Back to what I'm trying to get across... regular season games are for the record and for momentum, but strategically speaking, they are irrelevant. In North Dakota a team can win 6 games and win a state title. (1 Play-In game, 2 EDC Qualifying games, 3 State games [quarter/semi/finals]). Very implausible, but possible.
And, in some way, this all ties into the GPR/RR game this saturday. This also means, have fun and watch a good game, it's more than likely that you will see these two teams play each other again in either EDC or State, or maybe even both.
(Sorry for being a little harsh on the west, but it's been a tendency in the past, and this is an EDC forum :? )

Prediction for Saturday: Grafton's Junior forwards do a good job holding RR down, but RR is just too deep and will win 4-1. Shots won't be outlandishly lopsided, but RR will be favored.

I think the game will be postponed due to blizzard conditions. Seriously though I think RR wins 5-3. GPR could pull an upset, but I don't see that happening until the state championship game.

GPR with good showing vs. GFC could propel them into a winning mode.

could gett he upset and isn't GFRR primed for that? Last year it happened that way.

the one game in EDC that has some implications I see on the Standings-- is
WF vs Shanley.
If: Shanley wins they move into 6th place(via tie breaker: win over North)
Knocks north to 7th. WF 8th, Wahp 9th

IF: Wf wins-- shanley drops to 8th, WF goes to 7th.

so the EDC isn't as set as one would think it should be at this, the last games days.

Still fun to watch how all comes out.
Can't wait fot he tourneys

After a 9-2 whipping over GFC, i believe GPR is now focused on what they want to accomplish. I still dont know what to predict for the sat. game though. It will be a close game. i want to say grafton is going to pull off a win, but i cant. i dont see them beating RR until the championship game. anyways should be heck of a game, good luck to both!

GPR dominating right now. Arneson is making huge saves right now. RR has had a couple chances but mainly in the RR end.
