Sid Cichy

Sid Cichy passed away about 5pm tonight.  Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

This is very sad news. Sid was, is and will continue to be a coaching legend. No one can argue with his record.

As a Shanley alumnus this is very sad. My thoughts and prayers are with the Cichy family.

He by far has to be the greatest football coach to coach in North Dakota. In 30 years at Shanley high school here are some of his accomplishments:

record 231-38-3
15 state championships
59 consecutive wins (think thats the state record)
1975 National Coach of year
National High School Athletic Coaches Association National Hall of Fame
Coached Roger Maris

Those right there are VERY VERY IMPRESSIVE numbers.
