Weather is looking up! Hopefully some teams can get on a track this weekend and we can see where athletes are at. I expect teams with exceptional coaches to be ahead of the pack of other schools. It takes a good coach to keep young athletes dedicated and focused with the conditions we've had the past month.

There was a meet in Aberdeen last night in the Barnet Center. I read they had 24 teams registered with 10 more wait-listed. Pretty insane, but that's how desperate teams are to get races in. I think i recall seeing Sargeant County on the list of teams but don't remember any other ND teams on the list.

That's very interesting. I wasn't aware they were considering such an option. I agree with the voters though. An extension just doesn't seem necessary. Racing is fun and is a good way to see where you are at and to build confidence, but I don't think it's necessary to have a successful season. The average athlete may be affected some, but the top athletes in the state won't be affected by missing races. I expect on par results at the state meet and a lot of excitement in the next month as everyone wants to see where their competition stands.
