The rumor mill has spun a goofy twist. A couple of days ago, as it is heard Goodrich decided to end the sports consolidation with McClusky. WHY? Goodrich and McClusky have very few close schools in a district that is spread over a lot of miles. Talk is that McClusky is going to try merge with Turtle Lake, but how can TLM be with Underwood is some sports and McClusky in others? Seem to me the inevitable is going to have to happen someone in these four communities is going to have to make some decisions, have a vision and carry it out.

McClusky has wanted to get out of the co-op Tri-County for a couple of years now. They argue that they have to travel so far for practice, but they dont realize that Drake is the only town out of the co-op with a decent place to practice and play games. If anyone has played or seen the outfield/football field in McClusky you would understand why no one would wanna practice there.

Wing is the same way about having co-ops with 2 different schools. They play basketball and football with Wilton, but instead of staying with Wilton and co-op with Washburn im assuming they will continue to co-op with Steele for baseball and track.

If McClusky opted out of their fball coop, 9 man would end up losing a team. There is no way Drake, Anamoose, and Goodrich could field a team. Drake would go with Velva, Anamoose would either follow or go to Harvey, and who knows where Goodrich would go. I'd hate to see 9man lose another team...

It takes alot to keep towns happy in a co-op, like not any coaches from a town, practice distances, and sometimes even playing time. Drake and Anamoose might combine schools in a few years which might help them with basketball and volleyball. The tri-county co-op is up in the air, Velva wants Drake to co-op with them for everything, but that would mean loosing anamoose. Just cant keep everyone happy I guess.

It seems to me that if you coop with one school in one sport you shoud have to follow suit with the other sports.
