They are off to a 19-0 start the best in UND womens history. Is this a national championship team? It's great to hear there doing well. Best of luck the rest of the season to them

I think this team definitely has national championship potential. It's also cool that many of the players are either from North Dakota (Jahner, Beck and Ledger) or from NW Minnesota (Langen, Kimbrough and Bagaason). Bergan from Valley City and Seay from GF Central are coming next year so there should be even more North Dakotans who are solid contributors for the next several years.

It's a long road, but it sure is fun to watch! I'd prefer a loss early though as opposed to late. Once it becomes pressure times, it exponentially increases the pressure if you're still undefeated.

#2 UND plays #4 St. Cloud State tonight @ the betty, UND earlier in the season beat St Cloud at their place. Should be great game and has playoff implications winner has advantage in home playoff games during regionals.

They had a nice win, the only thing that's gonna stop them is a cold night against a hot team in the playoffs.   They may not be challenged all year.

You are right Batman that sounds like the only way they are going to lose. Another thing is this yeam is very young. Only have two Seniors, and some of there better players are sophmores and freshmen. Look for this team to do some big things the next few years.

I was in house for the game last night. They sure do look good.

They can play inside or outside, it's pretty much pick your poison. They also have a nice rotation of players and the level of play doesn't drop off at all when bench players come in. St. Cloud played better in the second half but UND hung strong.

Go Sioux!

They are still only receiving 4 first place votes in the DII poll behind Washburn(KS).  That almost seems like a lack of respect.

Great!! Nothing wrong with that. They will get all the respect they deserve when they are holding up that National Championship and not Washburn (KS). North Dakota doesn't get any respect in any sport outside the state other then hockey.

It's probably a perceived "strength of schedule" sort of deal. One would guess anyway.

The problem with rankings for any non-dI sports is that most of the coaches doing the voting haven't seen the teams outside their own region. The list of coaches who vote for the dII women's basketball poll is listed underneath the poll at wbca.org, and I believe only two or three of the coaches have even seen UND play. Washburn won the title last year, and is undefeated, so the vast majority of the coaches are going to vote for them. Are they actually better than UND this year? I doubt it, but hopefully we'll get a chance to see at the Elite 8 if both make it.

Exactly. That's why I trust them about as far as I can throw a car.

Well if Washburn (KS) is undefeated then there is no doubt they should be #1 and have most of the first place votes. Thats just the way things go sometimes, it's all about what you do in the postseason that counts.

Yeah, if there is one thing in sports that has been proven time and time again, it's that rankings don't matter. Just ask Pittsburgh!

I second the motion!

The Fighting Sioux women now have a bye for Wednesday's quarterfinals and await their opponent for Saturday's semifinal at 3 P.M. at the Betty.

UND women beat Augustana tonight win the NCC tourney. They are now 32-0 and should host the Regional tournament. Congrats to them and best of luck to them the rest of the year.

Well as everyone knows by now I'm sure, the Sioux suffered a heart breaking loss to St. Cloud State thereby not advancing to the elite eight. The Sioux end their season 34-1. While a tough loss, this may go a long way next year. Thank you seniors and keep your heads up Fighting Sioux! We thank you.
