Probably isn't right, but probably doesn't make a difference in the long run. Maybe coaches thought Applachain State would have gave LSU a better game. I really have no idea. Why are there 4 more coaches voting this week? Also, can somone explain how they choose the 16 playoff teams?

App State moved down because they got stomped on. NDSU could have had a bye week and moved up - the only thing that NDSU might have done last week to improve their standing in the eyes of FCS coaches is show that the new QB has some potential (16-18, 300+ yards, 3 TDs).

Every other team in the FCS is capable of getting beat by LSU as badly as App State did so App State proved nothing. If App State played LSU 11 times this year and was down 31-0 at the half in every game, I sure wouldn't want them to finish the season at #1. Hehe, they have 10 weeks to get #1 back - and I bet they can use that as motivation ($750K and motivation for a one-spot drop in a poll that means nothing - that seems fair - NDSU would do it for $500k).

For several years, D2 didn't count losses to higher division teams as "real" losses so 6-5 teams made it into the playoffs. I don't want to see that happen in the FCS because it devalues the whole division.

NDSU is number 1 by a very slim margin. Since the coaches poll is used as a criteria for playoff scheduling I would welcome the ranking as a sign of the coaches respect for NDSU, even though it is their first year playoff eligible.

No big deal to some, I guess, but ESPN just named NDSU's win over the Gophers last year as one of the top 10 biggest upsets in the history of the BCS.

Guess they don't know NDSU very well :)

Anyone who thought they were going to go undefeated was being a little delusional. They play in the toughest FCS conference in the country. There aren't many easy games anymore. As far as being overrated, point your fingers at the FCS coaches, they do the voting.

Big game vs. SIU this weekend. Word is it's going to be the largest crowd in Bison history... I'll predict NDSU 24 SIU 23

Bison get back in the win comlumn beating SIU 35-27. SIU dominated the first half NDSU dominated the 2nd half. NDSU was able to keep the SIU offense on the sideline for much of the 2nd half and wore down the SIU defense.
