David Selvig has a nice bit tracking some of the area players on college FB rosters. I can't help but think NDSU and now UND going D1 will help put higher quality area FB players into the DAC mix. And I like that. Honestly there are still alot of ND players on UND and a handful at NDSU, but following NDSU and there are way less ND players on the team than 5-10-15 years ago. Just a fact of the move up the food chain. Which benefits DAC i the long run. Here's the story

Speaking of local athletes doing well, UND has potentially one its best offenses ever, and eight of the eleven starters are from North Dakota, led by Dressler, Chappell and Trenbeath.

What's sad it that even some DAC schools think they need to recruit from all over the place.  It is nice to see UND having a ton of ND kids.  I am also impressed with NDSU sticking to its word and continuing to have a significant number of ND kids.  Hopefully NDSU and UND will always have a handful of starters from ND, but time will tell.

I'll give that to UND but ND has pretty much resloved to cherry pick the top ND recuits and the others are limited to walk-on. I follow DAC more than ever now that NDSU is left with a handful of ND players. Hopefully those DAC schools can pick up the pace in ND and keep guy's in NoDak
