Here is how bad the Twins backup catchers have been:

Butera/Holm Combined: .111/.149/.159
National League pitchers: .133/.161/.161 this year.

I think the reality of Being in an outdoor park in the spring has sunk in, i dont think they are getting in good practises and it will take longer to get rolling....I see them coming on strong when the heat starts to come and everyone gets healthy.....I have a funny feeling we will see them in October.

The only thing that is keeping the Twins alive right now is the fact that the Indians and Royals are the two teams in their division. The Twins have a lot of problems that need to get fixed. They are pitching horribly and their offense is plain awful most of the time. Throw in the fact that Nathan has struggled early on and that they don't have a lot of depth or quality in their bullpen is another major problem. I don't believe a season can be lost in the first but it certainly can be with two horrible ones.

coolstandings.com projects the Twins playoff chances at 2%. No other team in baseball is lower than 4%.

Twins were slow starters even when they were in the Metrodome.

Not this slow, not with 2 big $$$ players....biggest blow to the twins hands down, was Morneau going down last year...They would have went deep into the playoffs.

I agree with you there. I'm not sure if he's still feeling effects from his injury or if he's rusty, but he's been struggling. They definitely need Mauer healthy too.

Easy to say now, but if I remember correctly you predicted the Twins were going to go deep into the playoffs because their bullpen was going to be the difference.

Francisco Liriano no hit the White Sox last night. 6 walks and only 2 strikeouts. Twins win 1-0 with the only run coming on a Kubel solo shot. Good for Liriano. Lets hope he can keep pitching well. I know he wasn't dominant last night and the Sox aren't hitting that well, but a no hitter is a no hitter.

Well as Boomer says, 1 is a fluke, 2 is a trend and 3 is a streak.

eerily a 3rd win today will fall into the 'spooky' category as Bremer and Blyleven (sp?) stated on Tuesday...with all those 3s in the Seattle game (Twins 2 + Mariners 1 = 3; 3 hits for Twins; 3 hits for Seattle)...I think its a sign

Espn analysts said morneau will not be himself this yr because since his injury he hasn't lifted weights yet

They are 50 games into the season. I sure hope he has been lifting weights. He isn't the same this year yes because of the injury, but I doubt its because he hasn't been lifting. Did they really say that?

Twins are soaring now...and they add Nishioka to the lineup today plus Mauer and Perkins rejoin the roster starting this weekend (Padres series)...and the latest on Joe Nathan is very positive!

This beat goes on, this beat goes on
This beat goes on, this beat goes on
This beat goes on, this beat goes on

Nothin' matters but the weekend
From a Tuesday point of view
Like a kettle in the kitchen
I feel the steam begin too brew

Switchin' to glide, switchin' to glide
Switchin' to glide, switchin' to glide

Energy can be directed, Twins are turnin' it up and turnin' it LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6 1/2 back at the All-Star break..after past 2nd half surges this one seems very pedestrian.

Would you agree they are worse than any of the other teams that made similar comebacks? Granted the division is worse too.
