Multiple rapid fire questions:

Is Kobe Bryant's 81 point night, the best individual performance in NBA history?

Does this make Kobe better than Michael, Magic or Larry?

Discuss.

Scoring wise you probably could say its the greatest individual performance, there is no footage of Wilts 100 pt game so you dont know how easy his shots were but i've heard they were mostly 4 to 5 footers as well that game was a blow out. Kobe's team down and coming back to win makes it even more impressive. But then you ask who they play, the Toronto Raptors worst team in the league with a bunch of no namers.

Best Individual performance in NBA history in my mind has to go to Oscar Robertson's 1961-62 season when he averaged a triple double 30.8 pts, 12.5 rebounds, and 11.4 assists a game. Thats something Bird Jordan and Magic never did.

Kobe better then Michael, Magic or Larry??? Only time will tell.... Stat wise yes, but one thing those guys were that he isn't was they were team players. So the jury is still out on that.

Another thing that Bird Magic and Jordan did that Kobe doesn't, is that they made there teammates better Kobe doesn't.

Well if ya wanna go by championships it would have to be Bill Russell then I think he has 11 championships if im mistaking. Like I said only time will tell with mr. Bryant he already has 3 championships and he's only 27. Great player and someday i think you'll beable to put him in with the Birds Magics and Jordans but only time will tell.

I think some of the excitement of Bird/Magic and their era was because of the two great teams they played for.  It helped that it was carried over from college.  It was a rivalry that we don't see anymore in the NBA and probably never will again.  If Kobe played someone like Kevin Garnet for 3 or 4 world titles, it would elevate both of their status in basketball history.

kobe/Lebron would be a great bird/magic like matchup in the Finals.

I think a solid rivalry could really help the NBA right now, and that would make it even more ala-Magic vs. Bird.
