Yes, ndfan, there is a Carl Gerbschmidt. He exists as certainly as Elk Mound, Leinenkugels, and Brett Favre exist, and you know that they exist and give to all Wisconsinites joy and meaning in their lives. How dreary KFAN would be if there were no Carl Gerbschmidt. Not to believe in Carl Gerbschmidt? Why, one might as well not believe in Curley Lambeau. You might prowl all the bars in Wisconsin in search of Carl Gerbschmidt, and even if he was not seen what would that prove? Nobody sees Carl Gerbschmidt, but that is no proof that he is not there.
No Carl Gerbschmidt! Thanks to Barreiro he lives. A 1000 Leinie's from now, nay, 10,000 Leinie's from now, he will continue to make glad all hearts across Packerland.

Fictional, but who is it? I listened to a lot more KFAN years ago and at the time I think I thought it was Kevin Seifert, but that can't be now that he has moved on to ESPN. Could it be Common?

Hinsa wrote:I remember Gerbie absolutely crying and blubbering on the air when he heard that Brett Favre was retiring from the Packers. He thought the world was coming to an end. He was saying that Favre was the greatest player ever and such a wonderful human being.
Hinsa wrote:I haven't heard ol' Gerbie for a while. But as long as Favre played for the Packers, anyone in Favre's family was golden.
