every week you play a ranked team...if not 2....in the big east. which kinda skews the 33-17 wins vs top 25. in the big east half the time both teams are ranked so its a given they will get a win vs a top 25 team.

so if you play 2 ranked teams in a week then your conference is better? DUH! Big East is better

That's the only reason people think big east is better , because more of their teams are ranked when, if you look at it. Miami , Florida State, Va Tech, are pretty much identical to Villanova Syracuse and Providence the 5 6 7 teams in the Big East. Then you throw in Boston College who's pretty good too. I just don't see how the Big East ist hat much better.

I will say UNC's win over ND is looking less significant each game ND plays.

i will agree with you on that. I mean they have played a rediculous 6 game, well 5 game stretch, cincy was an easy win looking at them in the eyes and they choked, but still you gotta win at least 1 out of the 5 maybe even 2 to be considered an elite team. ND is average. And plus in the Big East there is what 12-14 teams i'm not sure , but with that many teams , yes your going to have about 8 teams with pretty decent records, and then everyone thinks that since they are in the big east they are good.

ND played 8 ranked teams in a ten game stretch

and they beat one of them.. .georgetown who is now unranked with 8 losses.. if your gonna be good you have to beat ranked teams you cant just play them and use the excuse , were good, we've just been playing really good teams.

If you honestly think that the ACC is better top to bottom then the big east...

if the top 10 played the top 10 in each conference it'd be 5-5

yes 1's played 1's and so on
it would be 5-5

Marquette vs. North Carolina- UNC wins
UCONN vs. Duke- very good game, UCONN wins
Louisville vs. Clemson- toss up
Pitt vs. Wake- toss up
Villanova vs. BC- toss up
Syracuse vs. Va Tech - toss up
Providence vs. Florida St. - i'd take Fl. State. but it could go either way.
Cincinatti vs. Miami- Miami wins
West Virginia vs. Maryland- Probably WV
Georgetown vs. NC State- Georgetown Wins

I'd say that there are 3 for sure wins for Big East and 2 for the ACC, but they ycould go either way

Louisville would beat Clemson
Pitt is to big and experinced....they beat Wake
Syracuse beats VaTech
ill agree with the rest...that give the big east 6-3 with the Nova-BC still a toss up..depends which score first point guard scores more

Well, Louisville got Pounded by the number one team and Clemson destroyed the number 3, so i put 2 and 2 together. and figured it'd be a toss up. Pitt doesn't impress me, yeah they got a couple bigs, but fields isn't that great. Teague would be able to exploit them. I really think that one's a toss up too.

The top teams in both leagues are pretty even but it';s the middle pack teams that gives the Big East it's advantage. Ill take Syracuse, Cincy, WVA, GTown, and ND over BC, VT, FSU, Miami, and Maryland

As of today, ESPN analyst Joe Lunardi has 8 ACC teams in the tourney and only 7 Big East Teams..

ACC- 8/12 teams = 67%
Big East 7/16 teams=44%

I don't really think it matters which conference is "better" than the other. The ACC isn't clearly better than the Big East and the Big East isn't clearly better than the ACC. When you went game by game you were just making predictions, that doesn't mean that's how it would go every time. Are these games played on neutral courts? You didn't really say either way what the environment would be.

These are the two best conferences in the country and they are too even to say either way if one is better. I think at the top they are too close to call. Uconn, Pitt, or Marquette could beat Duke, Unc, or Wake and the other way around. After that it's too much of a toss-up. The only reason I give the ACC more credit is because they have 12 teams to the Big East's 16. If the ACC added 4 more teams I'm sure they would have a couple more top 25 teams as well.

cant argue that...it would be a disappointment if they dont finally break through and win the ACC/Big Ten challange. When you have 3 top 10 teams (Michigan St., Purdue, Michigan) thats pretty impressive.

Big 12 is going to be an interesting conference to follow. wont be the best in the country, but i liked the line that said Kansas might have a harder time winning the conference then the National Title. I wont be suprised if the Feb 8 meeting between Kansas and Texas is a 1-2 game.
