Chicago 10-6...defense is tough, and offense is only going to get better

Vikes 8-8 *crosses fingers*...defense is the best i've seen since they were losing to the 49ers in the nfc championship but they have some serious questions on the offensive side

Detroit 5-11...they are going to put up something like 949484858594504-0439389494949 points....but they are going to give up something like 94949494404-43-303939389388458589483783737839394994893838383838939939393939399393893 points.

Green Bay 4-12...they weren't good offensively or defensively last year and unless they do something pretty serious in the draft, i don't see any reason for that to change.

Wisconsin fan I think your right with the Vikings 0-16 :) but no way are those worthless Packers gonna go 16-0. NFC North is the worst division in football hands down.

GO COWBOYS!!!!

It sounds like you are still jealous that he has his pick of the two jobs and chose the Vikings.     It's gotten so bad in Green Bay that even Farve doesn't want to go back.  Who can blame him?

It's Brett Farve dropping back....      :yikes:

Vikings 6-10
Chicago 1-15
Detroit 1-15
Green Bay throws in the towel week 3.

Vikings fans will see how big of a bum Childress is soon enough. Its the curse of Denny Green. Ya'll should of never gotten rid of him biggest mistake that franchise has made since they decided to put a franchise in Minneapolis. :box:

So are we all going to stand around bashing things we don't know the outcome about and drink kool-aid all day or make predictions that are a real analysis of what we see happening as per the topic?

1.) Chicago 10-6
2.) Minnesota 9-7
3.) Green Bay 7-9
4.) Detroit 7-9

Chicago 11-5

Minnesota 9-7

Detroit 6-10

Green Gay 3-13

Chicago- Great defense and improved offense + 6 games against NFC central gives them to 11 wins

Minnesota- back to basics, nothing flashy, run the ball play even better defense than what they ended with last year......4 games against detroit and GB gets them to 9 wins

Detroit- nothing new. Millen's still in charge

GB- contenders for worst team in football.  Have massive amounts of money to spend, havn't done a thing.  Great job!  They're back where they belong for another 30 years until some special comes along again.

Everyone said that last year too.  However, the NFC Norris had more wins than both the NFC West and AFC East.  I don't see much improvement from either of those divisions.  Not that it's anything to brag about, but it's not the bottom.

I'm sorry John Clayton all try to come up with real predictions soon, but by your record of Minnesota they must be playing 9 teams that will have losing records this year. Honestly you really cant give a REAL analysis until the draft if over anyway. Ya just never know if that Randy Moss or Lawerence Taylor or even Tom Brady is lurking in the draft and could help your team too a couple extra wins. So all get back to ya after the draft JC.

GO COWBOYS :)

I definately agree with wisconsin fan in his picks.   The vikings wont even win one game not even against the lions, 49ers, or cardinals or the jets, I just don't think the vikings have enough talent as san francisco i guess.   man lets get real wisconsin.

Thanks Jerry "The Kool-Aid Drinker" Jones. Again, it doesn't matter if they play teams with a winning or losing record, the question was make a prediction on how many games they win. It doesn't matter if they're good wins or bad wins, a win is a win. I predicted 9 wins. Simple as that. The draft isn't going to sway the equation that much. Brady wasn't a huge impact his rookie year, its hard for a rookie to be. The other two obviously were. But yeah, spare me the zero or one win scenario's for as much as my "JC" analysis is in your mind, yours is clearly clouded by a simple biased and hatered for the Vikings. Lay it down and we'll come back here week 18 and see what's what. Don't forget to predict your Cowboys either.

Peace out JJ, signed...JC.

Sept 11 @Washington
Not a great way to start the season with a much more improved offense, and even better defense then they had last year. Minnesota's offense stands no chance against that defense and Washington does enough on offense to get the job done. Washington by two touchdowns. Vikings 0-1

Sep 17 Carolina
Not a easy second game of the year only thing ya got going for ya is its at home but its still not enough to beat a Super bowl contending team oh yeah and they got a guy by the name um Steve Smith I think Smoot is still try to catch him right now. Carolina in a route. Vikings 0-2

Sep 24 Chicago
Ahhh the North Division champs next on the schedule unless half the Bears team isn't playing due to injury the bears win this one by at least a touchdown. Vikings 0-3

Oct 1 @Buffalo
This one is tough because both teams are bad but i think Buffalo will win this game by a field goal. Vikings 0-4

Oct 8 Detroit
OK here it comes the first win of the year for the vikings, I will be pulling for the Lions but the Vikes have to win a few games this year and they will do it against Detroit. Vikings go into by week 1-4

Week 6 BYE
Broke back Lake is made by viking players

Oct 22 @Seattle
Last years NFC champs at home. I don't see Seattle having any problems in this game. Shaun Alexander has huge game. Nate Burlesson gives smoot the Steve Smith treatment. Vikings 1-5

Oct 30 New England
New England isn't the same team they have been in the past, but hey it's New England they don't lose to powder puff teams. Billicheck has Brad Johnson so confused he wonders why he still plays the game. Vikings 1-6

Nov 5 @San Francisco
The Vikings next win even I can't be so stupid to say San Francisco is gonna win this game. But upset wouldn't surprise me. Vikings 2-6

Nov 12 Green Bay
uh ohhh a winning streak???? Alright all give them this game just to be nice but its no give me game they have to work for this one. Vikings 3-6

Nov 19 @Miami
Cucumber to Chambers at least 3 times and the defense is tough I gotta go with Miami by at least 10 in this one. Vikings 3-7

Nov 26 Arizona
Arizona with James, Boldin, and Fitzgerald = to much offense and just enough defense to get it done against the vikings. Vikings 3-8

Dec 3 @Chicago
At Chicago in December?? this one goes to DA BEARS Vikings 3-9

Dec 10 @Detroit
Another game all give them but wont be easy in Detroit. Vikings 4-9

Dec 17 N.Y. Jets
Jets get their QB issues resolved they win this one. Vikings 4-10

Dec 21 @Green Bay
Another december game @ lambeau no Randy Moss so no W. 4-11

Dec 31 St. Louis
They finish the season with a win against a so so St. Louis team. Vikings end the season at 5-11. Thats my prediction. Best i see is 7-9 if things go right could be worse if Johnson goes down at any point. I see the Vikings having a better defense then offense which you haven't been able to say for along time but that defense isn't a bears type defense and will still give up plenty of points.

I hate long quotes but I had to quote that one to make sure it sticks around.

You just made it very clear that your disgust for the Vikings still clouds your objectivity. How come it is that you by almost every single comparison you made, imply that you are comparing the 1-5 Vikings last year, to teams in how well they did this past year + all the free agents and improvements they've made?!?!? How is that fair?

You made it very clear that is in fact what you were doing by stating that this year will be the first year in quite some time the defense will be better than the offense? Did you miss every Vikings game last year? I'm pretty sure we don't go 9-7 if our D isn't better than our 0. Note that 9-7 was the same record as your much loved Cowboys. The Vikings made improvements to their offense and defense this year, as well as a new coaching staff and system that might just work even better, and quite honeslty maybe it won't. Just give it a level comparison though eh?

I'm not looking for you to sing the Vikings praises, just an admission that your distaste for them clouds any objectivity when it comes to talking about them. In the T.O. thread I said I hate T.O. but I still feel it was a good move for the Cowboys.

In the end its all smoke until the end of Week 17. We'll have our answer then.

Green Bay had the #1 pass defense in the league last year. Obviously GB's offense was poor, thats what happens when you have to play 4th string RB and 4th string WR's. Most everyone will be back healthy again on the offensive side. So i expect them to contend for the division. Plus A.J Hawk wouldn't be too bad to have for some run defense.

How did i not give it a level comparison???? If it wasn't level comparison I would have said the 49er's would have beat them and they would go 0-16 but i didn't. I said 5-11. I gave you who i thought they would beat and not beat, how about you tell me the NINE games Minnesota is gonna win this year??? Since that is what you predicted them to be. Like you said Minnesota made some improvements but I also think the Lions and Packers did to for enough to split with them. You let your best QB and WR go, you've improved your line but have nobody to run behind it except a committee of no names. So just give me the nine games they will win this year.

Chicago 12-4

Minnesota 5-11
Detroit 4-12

Minnesota has at least 9 very winnable games.  Notice I said very winnable.

They always have a chance at home, but they won't win all of them.  Here are the games I really think they should win this year.

Chicago

at Buffalo

Detroit

at San Francisco

Green Bay

Arizona

at Detroit

NY Jets

at Green Bay

St Louis

That's 10 games they SHOULD win.  Now, they'll inevitably drop two of these (chicago...at GB) and pick up 1 win they maybe shouldn't have won.  Leaving them with 9 wins.  The vikings should have a fairly easy schedule with games against the NFC north and NFC west.

They had Favre last year and didn't do so well. What improvements have they made in the off-season?
