I think Jamestown will finish 4th or 5th.  I just dont see them taking the west after losing to both Bismarck High and a very young Century team last year.  Top 5 for sure though.

4th 5th? who else is gonna be ahead of them then?

Personally i think Minot, CHS and BHS have the top 3 spots unless one of them has a flop year.  I dont know much about Williston other than they lost a pretty strong senior class last year. I would say Jamestown will end up in the 4th spot when the west Region Tourney comes around.

I think you got the 4 top teams good. But but i would have to say Jamestown would be top 2 but you could be right too...all it comes down to is who worked harder in the offseason.

All I know is Minot will be good.  Is anyone talking about Nathan Stremick.  He tore it up last year, and will be one of the best again this year.

Minot might not be one of the top teams. But remember what he did to Devils Lake.  One game winner and 2 game winning assists.  He will be one of the Point Leaders in the State.

OH WOW that only happened cause we got &@%$#% when we were down in minot and they get beat when we play them this year it wont even be a game

Nathan Stremick should be one of the top players in the state this year. Last year he had 19 goals and 29 assists for 48 points second on the Minot squad to Andy Dittus's 49 points( who is now in the USHL). Minot lost alot of firepower, leadership and its starting goaltender but should still remain in the top two or three  spots in the West Region. I would look for Minot and Bismarck High to compete for the top two spots.

I would not expect Minot to beat Devils Lake this year let alone any team from the West Region. The top West teams are not at the same level as the top 3 or 4 East Region teams. If Devils Lake was in the West they would be my pick to win the regular season and the West Region Tourney. I'm interested in what they will do in the East this year when they have a much tougher schedule and more "big" games.

just a thought i personally think minot had a huge chance last year to knock off central i think in the first round of state if they still had jordan willert around that kid is tearing it up down in the tri-city's, him and dittus togehter again would have put together a huge season

I would have to say that you should look out for klein from north, miller from gpr, meland from red river and simonson from central. Those should be the top players in the east this year.

who are going to be some players that are under the radar right now, that will have break out seasons? from both the east and the west.

Ted Larson and Isak Tengesdal will both have good seasons because they have Nathan Stremick passing them the puck.

tanner bombenger from north will have a good year for north this year. he has been on the team since his freshman year. he also scored two goals last year in the 3-2 ot victory over grafton at edc, including the game winner.

McBain who have a good year if he got to play the whole year, but since he is seating out two thirds of the year.  This year he won't be playing for Hazen-Beulah but he will be playing for Fargo South.  Just for the record McBain's line-mates were Haugstad and Philion.  Who both helped him through the year, and helped him reach that top spot on the Point Leaders of the State.

I read a quote somwhere that said "Devils Lake is from the west and its a different style of hockey". Implying that they were not going to do very well moving to the east. In round One of the state tournament wasn't it Devils Lake who score first, and skated side by side with Fargo South, whom had 12 seniors, compared to the 4 Devils Lake had? The only thing different that the east teams will see this year in playing devils lake will not be slower skaters, and less puck control, but will be the same calibur of hockey team, with a little bit of an rougher edge. In lamins terms, dont think that because some of them are a bit small, they are not going to hit you. Mark my words, they have nothing to lose, and they will leave it all out on the ice.

Yes it was the devils lake team that played and skated with fargo south, but also remember their record vs. east teams last year (0-4-1). Im not saying that they will be bad because they will be good, but they will have to adjust.
