Meland- RR from the East for sure.... he will be a candidate.
Seaburg- Bis??? Hey how is his attitude? grades? and doesn't he have some troubles he was in??
others: ithink that there are others in the state that are as high up or higher than Seeburg of bismarck....

Rehak- williston??? good kid
Martin- Mandan?? good kid-- good player now that he back healthy.
Geis-Bis????
klien- Manda goalie???

what about others from the east???
powers- super Senior from South??? he is a 4 yr varsity guy
Smith- WF-- 2 yr guy
Keller- G from WF-- two yr. guy good goalie on a not so good team.
Groth- south -- good kid / 2 yr. guy for a dominated(every yr) with seniors team.
bekkadahl- north?? two yr. gy for them and leading scorer this yr. for them.
Hooey-- all state Football-- good kid and a 2 yr guy at South.
heit- D.Lake-- 3 yr. player for them
Hmmm seems West is lacking the talent and good kids for a Mr. hockey.
What are the Criteria??? who votes?? And how do they get nominated? never understood that part anyway.
herbel last yr. was a good choice-- Good kid, Scored a ton, meant a ton to his team(even though not a good team)-- others deserved the Honor also-- but "there can be only one"..... right??

Gf hockey-- you make a good point-- Ladoucer also added to that list.

Yes- there have been players from the same team--
Weisgarber- South
galt- South
just a couple of years ago... I think it is common especially when you have good kids/good players and etc.

So you could see:
Rehak- williston
Martin- Mandan
Meland- RR
Ladoucer- RR
Hooey- South
Groth- South
maybe-- Powers- South
Heit- D.Lake
Groves- D.Lake

I think that most of these guys are in good standing-- Grades/ community/Team players/Mean something to their respective teams/and are good hockey players.
all of these guys should be leaders not only for their teams-- but in the State.
correct me if any of these guys look like they are not good stand-up guuys that would represent the Mr. Hockey Trophy and what it stands for.

last year I know some thought that Miller(grafton) deserved a look, and he probably would have been in the mix. but something like a Minor or etc. got in his way. yes it wasn't in the season-- but non-the-less it was during his HS career-- and this honor needs to be upheld at highest regard. Stay out of trouble, be a good citizen, good student, respected by school officials, be a good hockey player and maybe even excel in those areas-- citizenship/Grades/hockey....
be known for more than just a hockey player---- that is what i think..

I do not think anyone (Sr) from grafton is in the mix.

the list so far-- that brownbomber & Gman1 think is good looks like this---
and it is probably as close to a good list as can be thought of right now--
IE: from previous post
Mr. Hockey List
Rehak- williston
Martin- Mandan
Meland- RR
Ladoucer- RR
Hooey- South
Groth- South
**maybe-- Powers- South
Heit- D.Lake
Groves- D.Lake

anyone else have ideas?

Myabe add in nick shaefer to the equation. he is 2nd in points scoring in the state through 4 games.

Meland is a Stallion.
Schaefer-- maybe added to the mix.

Still think the earlier list is good--
Rehak- williston
Martin- Mandan
Meland- RR
Ladoucer- RR
Hooey- South
Groth- South
Powers-South
Heit- D.Lake
Groves- D.Lake
add ons:
Schaefer- RR

they all will fit into this at the end of the season.
Meland putting up some good numbers-- as he should.(but big numbers-what 8 vs. Wahp?)
Schaefer-- playing with Meland--can only be to helpful.although he is good too.

Groves!?!?!?!?! He has an 88% save percentage against Jamestown, Shanley, West Fargo, Minot, and Grafton....he is not consistent enough and he is not as good as people say. He gave up 1 goal on 8 shots against Jamestown, he let in a backhand flip against Shanley (One of the weakest goals i've ever seen) and he gives up a ton of rebounds. I think he should be taken out of the picture.

hitmanhoops-- you must be from up there?

Well then-- groves early on taking himself out of the running...
list continues:
Rehak- williston
Martin- Mandan
Meland- RR
Ladoucer- RR
Hooey- South
Groth- South
Powers-South
Heit- D.Lake
Schaefer- RR
Add in: Seeberg- Bismarck
Maybe Labare- bismarck???

Seems like the rest are still in the running.
looking at the ND HS website--
Meland(RR) front runner(as we all knew he would be)--
Ladoucer(RR)-- still being a good choice
the three from South- lead there team(as expected)Powers, Groth, Hooey(and they do not skate together- I heard that they have Groth centering another line to balance things)

Good addition of Schaefer to the list(he is skating with Meland so he should keep pts going)
Seeberg- putting up pts in the West.
Heit-- will still be DL's top player.

any other thoughts??? ---I think from the on-set this list was pretty good...
Haven't seen them all yet-- but expect to see all of these players during the yr.
I will keep an open mind.

Any chance of Thomas from Shanley??? He has put up good numbers on a not so good team. I think he could have a shot to be a canidate.

Farve#1--
Can't see that-- I mean Thomas being a Candidate---

Have seen him, he is OK-- but against good teams, doesn't show.(not the past yr. anyway)
Put up numbers so far yes- against who??? what does he have 9 pts?? in 7 games---
Could be their best player-- but not a Threat for the Prize.

If you think so-- why?? Then maybe add to the list???
