Ok this is how it goes. The east does not play physical, they use their speed and skill to win games. The west plays physical because they don't get as much kids to try out for hockey as the east does. During the Red River-Williston game, RR had many chances to score but Williston's goalie stood on his head. Williston was playing a physical game and by the third period RR was starting to get frustrated so they started playing physical and started making stupid penalties. Same thing during the Century-South game.

allthough i am from the west.... the east plays physical and they use their skill.  I dont have anything against the west at all but the east just has the numbers to pick from so in turn they can choose both physical and skilled players.

not all of the east teams have numbers to pick from. Grafton, for example, has one of the smallest enrollments in the entire state (for hockey schools) and they put together one of the best teams this last year, and next year theyll be even better. it just so happens that all the east teams play better competition year in and year out at every level so the players get better, whereas the west teams play eachother every year and dont play against better competition.

Well you could say that more athletes in the West are drawn to Basketball as opposed to Hockey, the State A was a 4-0 sweep for the west :)

don't forget it's not just grafton, but they are also picking from park river.  that's got to be a big boost to there program.  imagine bottineau having a school to coop with, it would really help out there program.  they are by far the smallest enrollment school with hockey, but still manage to put out good teams.
