With Nathan Stremick hurting his knee in the state championship football game and being out 6 plus weeks, how do you guys think minot will fair for the begining of this year.  He is the leader of the team and one of the only returing players with lots of experience.

He is having surgery to repair it next tuesday. It is very unfortunate for the Minot High hockey team.

I dont beleive anything is wrong with Nathan Stremick as he participated in both of Minot's jamboree games. After watching the Jamboree this weekend in Hazen it would be appropriate to say that the West is wide open. There is a lack of firepower on all teams and a lack of top notch players in the region. Although i would still look for Minot and Bismarck High to contend for the West Region crown.

speaking of that how did everyone do in the jamboree we went one and one losing to dickinson 2-1 and beat high 1-0. that is going to make for some pretty intense games if thats all the offense cane produce from the teams this year.

williston went 2-0 beating century 5-0 and bottineau 3 or 4 -0.

Ya thats century and bottineau you are talking about, thats not very good competition compared to the other pairings.

it sounds like instead of ripping on bottineau and century, you guys need to take care of yourself after losing to dickinson.  minot and bottineau both lost to dickinson by a 1 goal margin.

haha metal edge is right, you have no reason to be sayin we didnt have tough pairings. ur magicians didnt look so hot losing to dickinson which i believe people have them below bottineau in the polls and a century team who was picked third.

we watched dickinson beat bottineau and it was by more than 1. it was by 3 or 4. it should make for an interesting year in the west.

Well Devils Lake just got done playing Minot in a game that DL won 5-1.   Everson had three goals for his second game in a row.  Stremick did not play as well as I expected.  He had 0 points and did not contribute much.  DL looked very strong after the first 10 minutes.

stremmick is missing the key to his success last year in the form of Andy Dittus

Stremick can play, but it's not just the loss of Dittus. Minot High has virtually no help for him on offense. Devils Lake is a very good team. They would have been the favorite in the West had they stayed in that region.

I never said he can't play its just last year he had Dittus and the year before i believe he had wilert and dittus, i could be wrong.

Also Devils lake would have ran away with the west region crown this year, undefeated in my mind.

actually, he wasn't a linemate with Dittus the whole season last season either, and the season before, it was Dittus, Willert and Rody Selk together on a line.

He's still one of the best players in the state IMO, but doesn't have much help.

after watching the central game the other night, i dont think minot will have trouble scoring in the west, but i think their goaltending will be shaky, after that 4-1 loss and the loss to devils lake 5-1, they sound like thats where they need some help. who are their goalies, who were their goalies last year

they had stahl (or somthing close) i believe which was never really good either, they just had a better all around team last year to this year.

Bown was their goalie last year. He made Team ND. Skogen was the back up, who is their starter this year.

i dont know who their starter is, but guy webber i think his name was started the central game and was doing very well until the 3rd period when his defence went to sweet, and central woke up.

Stahl played two years ago and back to the subject of stremick, he did play on a line with dittus for awhile. the lines never stayed the same in both last year and the the year before. so you can't base his play this year on not having ppl there to help him. he just needs to step up as a senior and do what he is very well able to do. but b.c dittus isn't there isn't the reason of him not doing well.
